Anagrama Basics

Nearly 10 years ago we founded Anagrama with a determination to challenge the established norms of your average design agency; we integrated creative teams that specialized in their own field and were headed by creative experts. From day one we decided to invest our time and effort in photographing our work and showcasing it on our website. This website represents one of the most important elements in our brand’s identity and history.

November 14, 2017 marked an important date for us: after 9 years of showcasing our work on our website, which has had minimal changes in its design and layout, we are launching a brand new digital platform. We’ve been carefully contemplating this idea for three years, seeing as our website is such an important representation of our identity and such a key tool in sharing what our collaborations with clients and prestigious companies like: Armani Exchange, Sofia, Joaquin Homs, Theurel & Thomas, Conarte, and Sally Beauty looks like. It took a big team to execute this project and plan out every single detail of the website. The logo and platform were re-imagined, the layout was improved upon, and larger images and Gifs were incorporated.

Launching this website has been an important event for us, and as a way of celebrating we designed a limited-edition t-shirt. A simple and basic design that shows the personal influences of Mike Herrera - one of the founders and designers of Anagrama. The black t-shirt has a simple patch at its center – suggesting a military style influence – and presents essential information in a mixture of typographies that lie somewhere between Helvetica and Japanese typographies. On the patch is the name of our agency, the year it was founded, the number 2049 (a reference to the film Blade Runner, one of the designer’s favorites), words in German, amongst other design elements. A variation of the Anagrama logo can be found on the upper part of the inside of the t-shirt, and this too showcases another of the designer’s influences in the form of the musical genre of metal.

These t-shirts were made especially for our staff and clients, to whom the t-shirt was sent, along with a personalized postcard. It was a very special day in our studio - we celebrated the start of this new era with an after-office party that included beers and cheeseburgers.
